Urban complex “Çarshija e Madhe” (Grand Bazaar) contains 525 important facilities. It is known as the biggest Market in South-East Europe. It performed the function of handicrafts, trade and central administration of the time. At present it is a cultural-historical, tourist, crafts and commercial complex. All events associated with the city of Gjakova are connected with the rise of the Çarshija e Madhe. Distinct architectural features the construction technique itself; the building style is traditional with local material: stone, wood, clay-brick, old roof tiles, lead, etc.
